October and December 2018 @ Penrith and Richmond
NSW Government recently partnered with the University of Sydney, NSW State Emergency Service (SES), Office of Emergency Management and local councils to run a series of workshops for community service providers.
These workshops delivered flood awareness training and emergency preparedness resources to disability and aged care workers who support people in their own homes. They were based around the University of Sydney’s new Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness Toolkit that was launched in September 2018.
The services that attended the workshops in Penrith and Richmond and were able to discuss the best ways to help their clients be more resilient to flood with the SES and other emergency management experts. Following on from the success of these events, more workshops are being planned for 2019.
