Design competition for a new Pavilion at the iconic Barangaroo precinct now open
With the Pier Pavilion design competition officially open, registered Australian architects are now able to prepare and enter their designs for this new and exciting harbourfront project.
The competition jury, comprising of leading figures in the Australian architectural community, are looking for design ideas that embrace Barangaroo’s commitment to design excellence, world-class public spaces and sustainability.
Up to five entrants from Stage 1 will be shortlisted by the jury and invited to develop their designs in Stage 2 where they will be paid $50,000 for their participation.
The winner of the competition will have the opportunity to follow the project through to construction and bring their idea to life.
All entrants will have until 11am 6 August 2020, Australian Eastern Standard time to enter their designs.
Competition jury members
The competition entries will be assessed by a five person jury from the Australian architectural community, which will comprise:

- Bridget Smyth, Design Director, City of Sydney
- Abbie Galvin, New South Wales Government Architect
- Peter Poulet, Professor of Practice (Architecture), Western Sydney University
- ?????Kim Crestani, City Architect, City of Parramatta
