Greater Macarthur and Wilton Infrastructure Plan
Infrastructure NSW is preparing the Greater Macarthur and Wilton Infrastructure Plan (the GMW Plan).
The GMW Plan will outline the phasing of enabling infrastructure to support 30,000 new homes over the next 20 years in Greater Macarthur and Wilton.
Sequenced over three distinct time frames - 5, 10, and 20 years - this plan will provide a clear whole-of-government position on the delivery of state infrastructure, including roads, water and wastewater, and schools.
It will provide confidence and transparency to developers, industry, and all levels of government about the phasing of state infrastructure to support homes and jobs.
Building new and vibrant communities takes time. It requires a coordinated effort across government to deliver infrastructure and services efficiently and at pace with development. For Greater Macarthur and Wilton, this includes connections to major job centres of Western Sydney, Wollongong, and Sydney, and access to community infrastructure and services.
The GMW Plan will address conservation measures that seek to reduce the impact of development and consider delivery of infrastructure that is sensitive to the requirements of the local environment.
The GMW Plan will be developed in collaboration with NSW Government agencies, including Transport for NSW, Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, and Sydney Water.
Infrastructure NSW will consult with key stakeholders in the development of the GMW Plan.
The GMW Plan will be made publicly available in late 2025.
