Infrastructure NSW launches the Decarbonising Infrastructure Delivery Policy and Measurement Guidance
On 4 April 2024, Infrastructure NSW (INSW) hosted the Sustainability in Construction Forum at Sydney Modern for the launch of the NSW Government Decarbonising Infrastructure Delivery Policy and Measurement Guidance.
The launch of the Decarbonising Infrastructure Delivery Policy and Measurement Guidance will put NSW among world leading jurisdictions for carbon management and measurement practices.
The Policy and Measurement Guidance, led by INSW in collaboration with other government agencies and industry, will ensure upfront carbon emissions generated during the production of materials and the construction of infrastructure is a key consideration across all project stages. Additionally, it will ensure embodied carbon is measured consistently for government projects.
An update on the Decarbonising Infrastructure Delivery Roadmap was also provided at the forum, which has been prepared in collaboration with Transport NSW. The Roadmap provides an overview of activities and milestones relating to embodied emissions over the next 3 years, to provide greater policy clarity to industry and communicate the coordinated work of the NSW Government.
