Powerhouse Parramatta Nears Completion
Powerhouse Parramatta has reached a major construction milestone, with works now 95% complete.
Set to become Western Sydney’s first state cultural institution, the museum will feature world-class exhibition and learning spaces alongside a distinctive rooftop terrace with near 360‑degree views across Parramatta.
The rooftop includes productive gardens featuring Indigenous plant species and a purpose-built observatory for astronomy education.
Nearly 12,000sqm of new public domain is also being delivered, including a green square connecting to the Parramatta River and the planting of more than 200 mature trees.
The project is Australia’s first public building to achieve a 6 Star Green Star Design rating and will operate on 100% renewable electricity. Key internal spaces are now complete, allowing fit out works by the Powerhouse to begin ahead of opening later this year.
