Powerhouse Parramatta reaches new heights

Powerhouse Parramatta has reached another major milestone, with the project officially ‘topping out’ at 75 metres, marking the highest point of construction for the new museum.

The structure’s exoskeleton, made from over 12,000 tonnes of steel, allows for 7 column-free exhibition spaces, 2 of which have already been handed over for fit-out. Once completed, it will stand as the largest museum in the country, featuring an expansive 18,000 square metres of exhibition space, a 600-seat theatre, learning studios, cafés, and vibrant public spaces along the Parramatta River.

To date, more than 2,500 workers have contributed over 1.45 million hours on site, with main construction works on track to finish by late 2025.
